L'Oreal Paris Collection Star Pure Reds

This has to be one of those posts that I couldn't really contain my excitement about just because I am a self confessed lipstick hoarder and also this post features both of the women that I look upto highly: Blake Lively and Sonam Kapoor.

Most of you know what  I am talking about, for the others who don't, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING!? So basically, L'oreal Paris came out with a range of red lipsticks in the shades of their ambassadors all over the world. You can buy them here. There are about 7 shades that we get to buy in India and they are priced at Rs. 995 which I feel is quite alright for the quality that they are. I got myself the shades of Blake Lively (Pure Scarleto) and Sonam Kapoor (Pure Garnet). Pure Scarleto is your basic red shade which is perfect to create the 'red lip look' easily while Pure Garnet is the perfect autumnal berry shade which I have never owned before and was on my wish list for quite a while. Though I love both the shades I think I like Pure Garnet a little bit more just because I have never tried a shade like this. Formula wise, I think I am starting to like L'Oreal a lot more now. These lipsticks are matte in terms of consistency but they do not dry your lips and are quite long lasting. I put Pure Scarleto on  the other day at about 3 p.m and I checked it out again at around 7 p.m and it was surprisingly intact (though I did not eat anything within that period). I would recommend using a lip liner underneath in order to get the best results and for it to stay on the longest.

I would just like to put up my hands and say YES, I love them a lot and they are definitely going to be my favourites for a long long time now.

Also, I would be doing a blogpost with looks starring these two fabulous shades so keep an eye for it.
Until next time,

My Top 5 (+1) Lipsticks

I am an all naturals girl when it comes to makeup, but I absolutely love playing up with my lip colours. And that is why most loved collection in my makeup would be my collection of all the lipsticks I own (I own way too many). I just love them! Today I am sharing with you My Top 5 Lipsticks, plus an extra one which I couldn't have left out.

Rimmel Kate Moss in 107: This is by far my most favourite shade of lipstick ever. It is a dark red-burgundy colour which is quite honestly perfect for any time of the year (atleast for me!).  The formula is matte but it doesn't dry out my lips at all. It stays on for a good amount of time as well. All in all it's my top most lipstick so far.

Rimmel Kate Moss in 19: This as you can see is my most worn lipstick ever. The shade is kind of Pinky Nude perfect for everyday wear. To best describe the shade I would say this is the perfect shade to imitate a Kylie Jenner lip. Again as all Rimmel lipsticks, this too has a perfect formula and stays on nicely.

Joan Collins in Fontaine: I was given this one as a gift from an Aunt. I never really had heard of this brand before, but as you can see it has ended up right in my Top Lipsticks list. This has been my go to Pink shade for about a while now. The formula is somewhere between matte and glossy. A kind is like to wear during occasions.

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick in 101 Rose Melody: This is one of the most recent buys in my lipstick collection. This is a lip lacquer sort of a product which is a gloss but gives the effect of a lipstick. It is the perfect nude for me and this would always be my favourite nude shade. To read more of my thoughts on this one read this post here.

Clinique High Impact Lipstick in 12 Red-Y to Wear: This is the only high end lipstick I own, though I want to buy a M.A.C one once I am done with my Rimmel Kate Moss in 19. The shade for this lipstick is slightly on the redder side than the Rimmel Kate Moss in 107. That is the reason I love it so much. It is of matte consistency and stays well on my lips.

L'Oreal Paris Natural in 257 Sunset Blush: This is also something that I tend to wear on an everyday basis. This shade is also nude-ish but more on the pink side. I actually bought this on sale while in Australia from Target. The formula again is in between matte and glossy.

So this is it for this post.

Please share your recommendations below and also about your most loved/ your top lipsticks.

Until next time.

Maybelline Eye and Lip Makeup Remover

Have you experienced something where you are absolutely sure if a thing is not going to work, but on the contrary it works so well and now you cannot live without it?

That for me is this Maybelline Eye and Lip Makeup Remover. I have super dry skin and so I generally stay away from makeup removers thinking that you know they would dry out my skin even more and so I just use cream cleanser or a cleansing balm or something that is very gentle to my skin, while removing the makeup. The problem with this was, I couldn't get the eye makeup off easily and I would always have some bits still uncleaned by the time I think I have finished the make up removing routine. On my recent trip to the mall, I tried this product out and was a bit skeptical about it until I came home and tried it out! Ah-mazing is the word. It gets your eye makeup off so easily. It is one of those kind of hybrid products where the blue part is the oily part and then the rest is watery (Yes! that is how I describe things!). So how you use it is by giving it a good shake and then pouring only about 4-5 drops on your cotton pad and just swipe that make up off from your eyes. It doesn't get messy at all and you don't even need to rub your eyes.

All in all I love this so much.

What are your thoughts? Have you tried it out yet?

L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick

The title is a bit of a mouthful isn't it?

I ordered these from during the GOSF about a couple of weeks back, and honestly there hasn't been any other lip product (well except a lip balm) that I have used to finish my look since then. They are priced at  Rs. 950 which is quite decent for me for such good quality. Also, it is available in eight awesome shades.

These are not your regular lipsticks, one because they are quite sheer but they do add colour to your lips and two, they are not at all sticky or drying on your lips which is a very important thing during winters. They are surprisingly moisturizing as well! I got the shades Rose Melody (101), which is a pinky nude colour and my favourite at the moment and Tangerine Senate (204), which as the name suggests is a subtle orange colour which will be perfect for the good and breeze spring/summer days. They are quite long lasting too, as they last a good couple of hours before you need to reapply it.

I use these for the very neutral and only a winged eyeliner looks. I think they go perfectly with the subtle makeup looks. To sum them in one line I would say the gloss which works like a lipstick!

Have you tried them yet?

Until next time.

Hey Hey Hey Everyone!

Welcome to 2015!

This year we are all going to be a bit more older and hopefully more wiser too. ;)

I have always loved the idea of making lists and achieving my goals that way. I just like to know what I have in store for tomorrow. So naturally I am one more person who believes in keeping resolutions for the new year. So here I go!

1. I really want to lose the extra 13 kilos I have gained in a year. I am not a fitness freak or I don't care about having a bikini body. Fitness for me is to be comfortable in my own skin that goes for people who want abs and for people who are perfectly comfortable with their weight whatever it might me. Nobody should judge the other person for their body shape or size. This is the one major goal I aspire to achieve.

2. I also want to buy a CANON EOS 600D this year, just because it has been on my wishlist since a long long time.

3. I want to save up enough to pay my fees for my last year of college. It's just a way for me to become financially independent.

4. I want to learn how to play guitar too, because honestly it looks really cool plus it is one of the best sounding musical instruments there is.

5.I want to learn a new language this year. Preferably French or Spanish. Haven't decided yet but will decide soon.

So these are my RESOLUTIONS for this year. Do let me know what have you planned for the year in the comments below.

I will be updating you guys on my Resolution/Goals on the 1st of every month.

I have so many things lined up for you guys this year! Let's hope it all goes as planned!

Until next time,
Sharmi Shah
