To be totally honest my journey into weight loss has been a rocky one. But it has not been completely worthless. I have learned so many things in these two months that I can't stop myself from advising someone else now. The most important thing in losing weight is eating right. If you eat more than you need then the next day all you're burning is the extra stuff you ate the night before.

So for today's post I have a list of foods that would help you to get a glowing and rejuvenated skin. These foods will also keep you high on energy all through the day.

ORANGES: The Vitamin C in Oranges banishes under eye bags. It strengthens collagen, the skin's                          supportive structure, to lift sunken areas that create shadows.

APRICOTS: Our bodies convert Apricots' Vitamin A to retinol. a compound that helps produce new                         cells.

ALMONDS: The Vitamin E in Almonds brightens drab hungover skin by neutralising free radicals,                         molecules that dull your look. Also, the fatty acids in Almonds make you gleam.

CHICKPEAS: The Chickpeas help diminish scratches, scars and dark marks. Chickpeas' protein                                 delivers the amino acids essential for tissue growth and repair.

This is it for this post. To send me your feedback, send me an email or leave a comment below!

Something that attracts me to a blog is it's simplicity. I love blogs that promote practical fashion. One such blog is Styllogue by Nikita Pathare. She is also an engineer and loves mixing high end and low end brands together. Nikita also blogs about her favourite beauty products and some cool DIYs as well. Read on to find out about her inspiration behind her blog, her ideal outfit for a rainy day and to know a bit more about her.

What inspired you to start ‘STYLLOGUE’?
After completing my engineering and working in the same field I was looking for a creative outlet.I used to make fashion outfit sets like a hobby. After sometime, I realized the content and outfit ideas were worth sharing and that is how I ended up starting Styllogue.

Do you ever get those days where you feel de-motivated? How do you deal with those days?
Yes like everyone else even I have my highs and lows. There are days when I reach a block and can't think of any new content, doubt if I am on the right path. That’s when I take some time to review my goals. Read a book, take some time off.

What would your ideal outfit on those gloomy rainy days be?
Anything light and colorful, a playful maxi/midi skirt or light fabric pants would be my best bet.

3 beauty items that we would always find in your bag?
There are always more than 3 beauty products in my bag. Three main things would be a red/nude lipstick, blotting powder, sunscreen.

If you were allowed to wear clothes from only one brand, which one would you pick and why?
I always choose clothes which I am comfortable in, that suit my personality and compliment my body type. To choose a single brand would be extremely difficult for a fashion blogger but I'll surely list a few of my favoured brands Zara, Topshop, Forever 21 and designers tags would be Masaba, Anita Dongre.

What’s your secret to a flawless natural makeup look?
There is not secret actually one just needs to pick the right products. For a natural look use a tinted BB cream or light coverage foundation whichcorrectly matches your skintone. Before that moisturize your skin, use a concealer for under eye cover, and some loose powder to set everything and you are good to go.

Any advice you would like to share with the aspiring bloggers?
Stay true to yourself, create an identity of your own.I know its difficult not to be influenced by others around you, be inspired but don't imitate. Above all value your work only then others will value it.

Where do you see yourself 5 years from now?
5 years down the road I do have a few plans and goals set up on the personal front. Blogging is something which looks lucrative from the outside but there is a lot of struggle, hard work and persistence involved. As of now I am juggling between two different careers so choosing between one of them and setting up something is yet under the cover.

What’s been your best blogging memory till date?
There have been several incidents which have made me feel more than fortunate. Nothing can be better than when your work is duly appreciated and the amount of support I get from my readers and followers.

3 things that nobody really knows about you?
1. I am an extremely private person.
2. I was a typical nerd in school.
3. I can be extremely blunt at times.

What can we expect next on your blog?
No one thing is assured but you will surely see some fresh and unique styling.

I am in no way a food or health expert in any way. This is a recipe that I use almost everyday for my green smoothie and so this post's only purpose is to share it with my readers.

I got into smoothies about a couple of years ago and after discovering them I prefer drinking juices over eating fruits any day. And then came the whole green smoothie revolution thing. I hated it with a passion initially but I eventually discovered a couple of recipes which made me fall in love with them. Sounds like a typical love story, eh? So after trying about a hundred different ways (totally exaggerating!!) to make a good green smoothie, I now finally have my own one. I changed a few ingredients and added a few instead. So getting into the actual recipe:

 Water of 1 Green Coconut

1 Sliced Banana

1 Finely Cut Apple

1 Handful of Fresh Spinach

About 10-12 Mint Leaves

1 tbsp. Flax Seeds

2 tbsp. Honey

1. Fill the blender/mixer with all the above ingredients.

2. Add about 5-6 medium sized ice-cubes.

3. Mix all the ingredients in the mixer.

4. Drink your health away!

I hope you all try this recipe and let me know your feedback in the comments down below or mail me at

Until next time.

As a beauty blogger it is a constant struggle to come up with new posts every other day. Also it is not very budget friendly if you're a student and only working part time. Over the span of a year into beauty blogging I have learned a thing or two about being a beauty lover on a budget.

1. FINISH THE PRODUCTS: I know it is really hard to finish products when you're constantly trying new things. But to me when I finish a product it gives me a sense of accomplishment and completely using a product prolongs your next purchase. So whenever you are out there to buy a new product look into your stack if you have a similar product and then use it up first before buying a new one.

2. LOOK OUT FOR SALES/DISCOUNTS: Whether you're shopping online or you prefer going to the store to buy make up, it's best to see if there are any sales going on. You can keep your list ready for those sales days and what better way to shop then to pay only about half of the original price of the item. I think this is the most cost effective way to shop for beauty products. This is what I almost always do unless of course if it's an emergency.

3. DON'T GIVE IN TO THE HYPE: There are a lot of products that are hyped about all through the year. The key to save money is not to give into the hype and to know if you really need that product. I know blogging can be a bit pressurizing sometimes but it's all about being true to yourself and not doing what everybody else is doing because where's the fun in that!?

4. PLAN BEFOREHAND: You can also save money if you plan beforehand what's on your wishlist and then you know what you need to buy so you don't end up shopping in bulk for the items you don't actually need. This one comes from my personal experience but I learned it in time!

These were some of the things that I learned in the past year which helped me to stay sane while beauty blogging. Do you have any tips to share on the same? Share them in the comments down below or you can mail me on

I would like to say that Summer is my most loved season of all, but to be honest I love winter more. One of the main reasons for me not to like Summer is because it is just so sweaty and it makes me want to shower every other hour during the day. And because of the sweaty feeling I really kept everything so simple during this year's Summer.

For Base, I reached out for my most trusted Garnier BB Cream. It is just the best one I have come across. It does not give you a full coverage but honestly I prefer natural looking and dewy skin over matte and cakey makeup any day. So this gives me the perfect combination of looking fresh and dewy all through the day. Although I only started using this one again since last month, I had to include it because I have been using it regularly every since. I am talking about Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder. This product will always be one of my most loved beauty products only because it works so well on my skin and helps to keep the make up stay put all day.

For Blushes, this summer I went mostly for pink ones. I absolutely love the Bourjois baked blush in 34 Rose d'Or Golden Rose. It not only gives a subtle pink colour to my cheeks but it also highlights my cheekbones and who doesn't love a product that multitasks.. Secondly, I was also loving Flushed Rougissant 200 by Revlon from it's photoready range. It is a cream blush and it looks very bright in the packaging but when you use it on your cheeks, it gives you the look of naturally flushed pink cheeks which I love.

For Eyes, I have been using my only eyeshadow palette Bronzes by Chi Chi cosmetics which is an Australian brand. But for some reason I have been obsessed with palettes recently. As soon as I see a picture on Instagram with a Palette in it, the picture has to be screenshotted. I really like this palette, the shadows don't smudge and they are really neutral so you can also wear it as a single colour which is what I do mostly. Eye liner wise, I have been loving the fairly recently launched Maybelline Colossal Liner. It is perfect to achieve the perfect cat eye look because it makes it so easy.

For Lips, there are so many lipsticks that I have used this summer and most of them are either coral or orange. The ones that I used generally are Oh! Orange! from the Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Pop collection. This balm is so moisturizing and I love the fact that it leaves a shiny subtle coral-y tinge on my lips. The next ones are also from Maybelline, 910 Shocking Coral and 914 Vibrant Mandarin. They both are really pigmented and so I love to apply a bit first and then smudge it over with my ring finger to give it a more natural look. The last one that I have used is 204 Tangerine Sonate by L'oreal Paris which is one of those lipstick cum lip gloss type of product. Again, I don't like to layer it up but apply little at a time.

For Fragrance, I have been head over heels of Moschino's Pink Bouquet and Victoria's Secret Simply Breathless. I would like to include that both the scents for me are completely opposite. Pink Bouquet has a very floral smell to it while I feel like Simple Breathless is a more earthy scent.

What have you been loving this past summer? Send me an email over at or you can comment down below.

Until next time,

One thing that I decided to accomplish this year was to get back in shape and lose all the extra kilos that I put on in the last three years. In no way does it mean that I am ashamed of my current body shape, it's just that I feel really unhealthy and inactive! But the good news is that it is about to change because I have been feeling so confident since the past month.

Disclaimer: I am in no way an expert in fitness and neither do I mean to consult someone on the topic. This is purely to share my experiences about my weight loss journey and getting myself back on track.

So what did I do in the first month in the gym?

I began with doing about 40 minutes of cardio and 20 mins of floor exercises on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. And on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays I would do weight training. I also started my month with a lot of green juice but I kind of got bored of it on around the 18th. But then I started mixing things up every morning and I kind of like my breakfast habits right now. So I try to eat cereals for a couple of days, then I eat fruits on another couple of days and on the rest of the days I generally have a green smoothie. I think I am going to stick to it for a while now!

Next thing I changed was my intake of water. I never believed in the fact that having 8 glasses of water would really help me. And so I try to drink a mixture of different liquids with regular water like coconut water, fresh juices and similar stuff.

I can see a lot has changed when it comes to my skin and my hair but physically I would still wait till the end of this month to put up a before and after picture.

So for the month for July, I would be taking up the Squat Challenge and hope that I would stick to it till the end of the month.

I am not even going to say how surprised I am that we are already half way through 2015 because you all know that by now! So because it is July it can only mean that I have my June Favourites for you today. This month I have been using a lot of different products from skincare and makeup, so let's get into it!

1. DOVE DEEPLY NOURISHING BODYWASH: I finally finished my hoarded stash of The Body Shop's Shower Gels. *phew* and although as much as I love them, I was ready for a change. So what better way then to go back to your roots? This body wash was the first one I ever bought and so on my recent trip to my local supermarket I picked this up and I still love it! It has a creamy base but yet so hydrating. I know I am going to buy the whole range now!

2. KARA SUNSCREEN WIPES: In the beginning of this month I was suffering from a really bad skin phase. I was trying all kinds of stuff from masks to home made remedies but nothing seemed to work. Then I realized that I was unable to properly take my make up off before sleeping. I just used to damp my face and then wash it with a cleanser and rinse it. So then when I started using these facial wipes before cleansing my face at night, I saw an immediate change and every since I have been using them religiously.

3. THE BODY SHOP VITAMIN E INTENSE MOISTURE CREAM: One of the biggest problems I face is that when I love something I buy a couple of that things at a go but when I can't be bothered, I run out of things when I need them the most. This one I bought from The Body Shop in Dubai. I actually didn't want to buy this one but because I was in such a hurry I ended up with this. It is meant for a lot drier skin than mine but I love it! I see no dry patches, no flaky areas and it keeps my skin moisturized for the whole day.

4. RIMMEL STAY MATTE LONG LASTING PRESSED POWDER: I think I have mentioned this in one of my favourites before but I kind of re discovered it recently. I wasn't using much make up until recently. The only reason that I started wearing makeup again was because I wanted to get more into it and because obviously it makes me look prettier and gives me confident. I had this powder stashed away in my collection and I am so glad I still had it! It is so perfect. It is light weight but stay true to it's name and helps set the makeup amazingly well.

5. BENEFIT THE POREFESSIONAL: Now this is something that I loved the most during the whole month. I have read and heard rave reviews about it but because the original size was so expensive I decided to go for the travel size and oh boy! How I wish I had picked up a couple more of these! This product is magical. You apply it before your makeup and the makeup just glides on your face then. I might have to get my hands on  another on of this very soon!

6. BOURJOIS BLUSH IN 34 ROSE D'OR: I love any product that is paraben free. I have never come across a product that is paraben free and hasn't worked for me. Like the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, this one too is a re discovery! I think I am going to use it for the month of July too. I love that how subtle is it and it makes me look so awake and fresh. It works wonders for my skin.

This is it for this month's favourites.

What have you been loving this month?
